I am so overwhelmed with anger, sadness, powerlessness, hopelessness. This needs to stop now. The regime needs to be removed now. A prosecution of all involved needs to start now.

I don't care about the phrasing, "abolish" vs "reform" or whatever. Sure, we need an agency to run immigration, check your passport and bags at the airport. Also true, if ICE is abolished they'll recruit another agency to do the gooning, Border Patrol, Bureau of Prisons, Secret Service, some other brown shirt paramilitary group either already existing or newly created.

Until there is meaningful oversight of the executive branch, with real consequences of prison for wrongdoing, the public will continue to be terrorized by this murderous regime. This means Republicans in control of Congress and Senate and Supreme Court will continue to bear full responsibility for allowing it to wreak this havoc on American streets, until they wake up.

I get so resentful of all this talk about how to be a super-ager. It smacks of victim-blaming. As you know from your mother, and I know from numerous friends and relatives, you can be physically active, and socially and mentally engaged, and still get struck down by Alzheimer's or Parkinson's, or Lewy-body dementia, or any of a host of other diseases of old age. And, as usual, it shifts our focus from the systemic issues that we should be addressing about how we take care of an aging population that will increasingly need long-term care to a "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" mentality.
